REMNANTS AND THE CHURCH

When I hear the word remnant I think of carpet - that big piece of flooring that someone else didn't choose to use but it is still big enough to be used for something. You know they store remnants in the back of those carpet warehouses because they would rather sell you the new stuff instead of the remnants!

I started thinking about the blog that I wrote on EROSION OF A NATION (see below) and I was studying the picture that was posted with that blog. If you look, that tree has some of the roots exposed and broken off, while there was one larger center root going down from the center of the tree into the soil. This is the tap root of the tree that keeps the tree anchored and watered because it is the deepest of the tree's root system...if and when that tap root fails so goes the tree. That one root will keep the weight of the entire tree upon its shoulders....I promise I'm going somewhere here...

I believe that some of these frustrations we may be feeling with other fellow "Christians" is because we've always simply believed they were just like the rest of Evangelical Christians and now we're finding out they aren't. Now we can see these cultural Christians being exposed by the pulls of the world, just like those many smaller tree roots that were just hanging in mid air around the tap root. Their weak moral values, their watered down gospel and their consistent compromises on God's TRUTH as presented in HIS WORD are now exposing the roots they thought were so secured in the ground. Now, I think the Evangelical Christians are getting it. I think we've figured out that there is a very small number of real, Bible-believing Christians is all that's keeping the spiritual fabric of this nation together. Now we cry out for the Lord to forgive our land and heal us and it seems like the heavens are brass.

Pastor Perry Stone once said that Jesus was going to come back one day for His bride. He will not return to a bride who doesn't really want to be a bride. He's not going to return for anything less than a fully prepared bride (church). If you look at the state of Western Christianity today you will see that there is no way Jesus the bridge-groom would want to come back to this Church the bride. Seriously! Look at our denominations. Several allow and have voted on as a DENOMINATION to allow homosexuals to preach from the pulpits for the sake of "openness and political correctness." It's called compromise and it's happening in our church body's all over the USA today. Look at what happened so often to Israel in the Old Testament. They would go into a land and allow the people's beliefs in the land to creep into their belief system. Before too long they worshipped the gods of that land and mixed with the people to the point that God's chosen people were discern able from the others. Sometimes God would bring great trials upon Israel and many of them would die but God would always hold out a REMNANT that He would later us to bring back the morals and truths that He commanded them to follow and obey.

I believe that Jesus will come back for a glorious, mature Church. For that to happen, we should be prepared to see the Cultural Christian Church of America and the world fall away. That means that it's time for the Evangelical Christians to find their place among this new America that we are now seeing. We need to be a REMNANT that is DESPERATE for the ways and truths of the Most High to be brought back to the foundations of a nation. We need to be HUNGRY in our personal lives to be a praying people and a righteous people. We need to be willing to be refined and molded and used. We need to be willing to STAND with God's Armor on us and ready to fight. The Evangelicals are that tap root. We go down deep into the soil and are nourished with the well spring of LIVING WATER from the Holy Spirit and we must fight to keep the waves and terror away from our great nation, the very vulnerable tree that still stands --- today.
