So with all of the talk on social values playing into the election and other avenues of life, I'd like to examine what the Bible has to say about the sanctity of human life. Just when does "life" begin?
I'm not going to get into what the pro-lifers and the pro-choicers believe and push. No, I'm going to take you to just a few simple Scriptures that should make this whole entire issue crystal clear.
If you say you believe the Word of God to be truth, then this is the Truth as it is written.
O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. PSALM 139:1, 13-16
Thou shall not murder - Exodus 20:13
And thou shall not give any of thy seed (children) to set them apart (sacrifice) to Molech, neither shall you profane the name of thy God = Levitius 18:21
Well how simple was that. So life begins from the moment the Lord wove them together in the dark of the womb. I think about the little boy or girl that my wife is carrying and I think about how God is delicately weaving this child together as I type this. He already has a plan and a purpose for this baby...one far beyond anything I can see. He has already seen every single moment of our babies life.
The abortion issue really should be no issue at all. The facts are clearly black and white. We, however, now live in a society that only sees gray. We live in a society that puts the truth of the Bible in the background as decisions and laws are passed. We live in a society that is in trouble. We must return to Him and Him alone should there be any hope for our future. May God have mercy on our nation for her crimes against Him.
A truth so simple, yet some seek to ignore the truth, just as they refuse to acknowledge that God exists. Thank you.
