May God Help Us All...

This will be my last post before I leave for South Africa. I will include specific prayer requests at the end of my blog, but until then I will make one final plea as an Christian, as an American, as a believer in our great republic, as a believer in our rights...one final plea...cry out for the Lord to deliver us from the coming darkness. Regardless of who gets voted in as our next President, I believe our country is on the VERGE of a great downward spiral. I feel great anxiety as to the future of our once solid and prosperous nation. We have strayed from our moral base...the Bible. We have ignored truth, mocked it, legistated it out of our laws and social fabric, and now we teeter on the edge of it all.

We need to cry out like the nation of Israel did in the Old Testament...
Jdg 3:9 When the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.

Jdg 3:15 But when the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. By him the children of Israel sent tribute to Eglon king of Moab

2Ki 13:5 Then the LORD gave Israel a deliverer, so that they escaped from under the hand of the Syrians; and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents as before.

These are just 3 examples of the Lord delivering Israel from the depths and despair of the invading and oppressing world that surrounded them.

There are other times when the Lord did not give Israel the deliverence she may have wanted or needed because they had strayed so far. Ultimately the Lord did set them free or deliver them, but not without great trials for the nation first.

So friends, do we see the end of God's mercy on us as we approach the next 10 years or we will continue to see His mercy extended to a nation that honestly doesn't deserve it? I pray that we will turn from our sin and our idolatry and seek His face again. God will not be mocked and He is a God of justice.

Well that's kind of scary I have to say. Those are my thoughts and fears for the day...there for the whole world to read if they so choose.

Thursday we will be departing for Africa. Please cover us in prayers, not just as we travel, but as we share the Gospel. God wants to be praised from every corner, every tent, every valley, every cave, every hill, every nation, every tribe. Pray that one new small corner of the world will see His liberting Truth through Jesus and that His name will be magnified in Diepsloot and Johannesburg South Africa!

Team members are leaving their kids (all of our women members have 3 kids), they're leaving husbands or wifes, moms or dads, brothers and sisters behind. Pray that both the family members that remain and the team that is going will adapt to these changes. Pray for our team to remain out of the emotionally draining and mission-distracting culture shock so that we may remain focused on the short-term mission goals and pray for the soil to be prepared by the Holy Spirit so that His Word will successfully be planted in hearts...then pray for the harvest!

Pray for Ron, Scot, John, Leslie, Derrina, Alison, and Wendy. Pray for our missionaries Rich and Michelle and Thom and Penny! ...and don't forget to pray for revival in the great United States of America. God Bless!

Ron
